Raakesh Agarvwal the renowned designer for Bollywood Industry
Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010 season is just two weeks away. And it was only just a few days back, that the LFW advisory board revealed the names of the participating designers, but it seems they have to re-arrange it! Wondering why? Because designer Raakesh Agarvwal has opted out from the event. The designer will not be seen showcasing his collection or any kind of participation at the upcoming LFW season due to ill health. He was going to do a special catwalk show by TIGI where silhouettes were supposed to be designed by him.
Last year, Raakesh had been reeling under a serious neurological condition from which he had recovered after treatment that went on for months on end. Our guess is that the same condition has relapsed and is the principal reason for his last minute pull out. When we contacted Anil Chopra, CEO, Lakme Lever he confirmed the news - "Yes, he is in quite a serious condition."
Raakesh is always known for creating an interesting mix of Indian and international apparel with old-skool couture elements, encompassing the comfort and ease of prêt construction. The designer was last seen presenting his grand collection at Delhi Couture Week, while sharing the ramp with Rina Dhaka. Since then, the designer has maintained a low profile. But it is known that he suffers from jaundice. According to sources, he has been going through some serious health problems for quite some time now.
When contacted to know more about his health, his business partner tried to remain tight lipped about the entire situation. According to his business partner, they have already informed the sponsors –Tony & Guy - about their non-participation.
We wish a speedy recovery for Raakesh! Get well soon.
We all wish Raakesh a speedy recovery of his health....
